Teen Triumph

The mission of Teen Triumph is to bring teens to the spiritual place where they realize their individual responsibility and accountability to God and to help bring them to the maturity level where they will be able to minister to their peers. Teens involved in this ministry have the opportunity to hear and study the Word of God on a practical level that they can relate to in their everyday lives. Teen Triumph is open to members and church visitors aged thirteen to ninteen. Teen meetings are held each Wednesday from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

WHAT WE ARE

Teen Triumph is an auxiliary ministry of Church of the Burning Fire. It functions under the leadership and teaching of Minister Charles D. Morris.

WHERE OUR HEARTS RESIDE

We believe that children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3). The heart of Teen Triumph is to protect the children (the next generation).

WHAT WE AIM TO DO

The goal of Teen Triumph is to instruct, correct, and guide teens spiritually as they realize their individual responsibility and accountability to God. Our mission is to bring them to the maturity level where they will be able to minister to peers and lead others to Christ.

Practical lessons and activities are utilized by the ministry to help teens relate everyday situations through the eyes of the Lord. Teen Triumph IS NOT a youth club where teens gather to socialize. Moreover, this ministry does not operate as a mere program but it is spirit led and spirit maintained. Teens who fully commit to the ministry will undoubtedly become apart of the remnant that does not bow to the world and its system (Daniel 1,3). The goal is create strong young people that stand apart from the world and resist its influence.
Teens who are uncommitted or "half-committed" to this ministry will likely fall by the wayside as it has happened in the past. Therefore, it is incumbent upon parents that they ensure their son/daughter's commitment. Being committed to Teen Triumph means you COME, HEAR, AND DO! The teen's success in Teen Triumph is determined by the teen's commitment to Teen Triumph.

Common situations that we have noticed that contribute to wayward teens are habitual absences due to any the following:
  1. Sporting events
  2. Homework
  3. Fatigue
  4. Variance
  5. Sin (in general-no light, no fellowship 2 Cor. 6:14)
Satan knows that the Truth of God's Word goes forth with power and demonstration from this ministry. It is better for the teen not to come at all than for him/her to take the "luke-warm" approach (hit and miss with attendance). Those that take the "luke-warm" approach to Teen Triumph fall prey to the enemy. We need as much commitment from the parents as we do from the teens themselves. The Truth of God's Word is precious in these last days so don't miss out!

Our Leader

Minister Charles D. Morris

Charles Morris Minister Charles D. Morris is the son of Pastor Ernest G. Morris and Sister Freida Thomas Morris. Minister Charles D. Morris (also known as Brother Charles) grew up in this ministry. Ministry began early when he started playing the bongos alongside his father (a keyboardist) for the adult choir at age seven and later moved to the drum set at the age of ten. Nowadays, people sometimes ask, how is it to work with your father who is such a strong leader. He simply replies, "I really don't know…it's all I've ever known." Bro. Charles is a product of Church of the Burning Fire's Super Service and Teen Triumph Ministries. Both of his parents stressed the importance of putting God first, which meant going to service even if he didn't have his homework done! During this period, Bro. Charles solidified his walk with the Lord and began bearing spiritual fruit. While attending Northwestern Middle School in Zachary, Louisiana, Bro. Charles was elected as Chaplain of the Student Council. His duty was to pray before and after meetings but little did he know that God was moving him in a direction to higher grounds. It was not until high school that he began to truly evangelize for the Lord. It was during his freshman summer band camp at Scotlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, that he was recognized by a strong, young lady in the Lord. She was the leader of the Fellowship of Christian Students (FCS) at Scotlandville. She prophesied to Bro. Charles, without ever meeting him, that the anointing was on him and that God would use him without ever meeting him. Bro. Charles went on "under her wing" to begin preaching at the FCS meetings during school which at first were disastrous, but ended with him being the president of FCS. In the year 2000, Bro. Charles responded to an altar call at church that changed his entire life. It was this altar call that fully acquainted him with the life-changing power of God. He had decided to stop living a life that Jesus described as "luke-warm." From then on, he began to make real changes in his life which led him to persistently maintain his virginity, change his friends, and evangelize to others. Minister Charles D. Morris is on the forefront of the next move of God because he is willing to forsake all for the Gospel's sake.
